On April 29th my Dear Sweet Husband John went home to be with Jesus. He had been very sick for the past 2 1/2 weeks and was in alot of pain. He had a very peaceful homegoing and we know that he now can walk, see and hear and has been reunited with many family members. We miss him so much but know that one day soon we will be together again. I'm sharing a poem our Granddaughter wrote.

I'm Home Now

I have to leave you now; it’s my time to go.

You are my friends, my loves, my almost all.

He’s asking for me to join him in heaven.

I have to go.

Because I need him, more than you need me.

I feel no pain, no sorrow no more.

I walk with him through my King’s door.

He’s made a home, so warm and full of light.

There we will be talking all through the night.

I will tell him about you, how you made me smile.

He will tell me about you, and we will wait awhile,

Until you join us in this wonderful place.

I will celebrate the day, when I see your face.

…To my Grandpa, with love,

From your oldest granddaughter, Rhonda

For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son,

That whosoever believeth in him should not perish but have everlasting life.

My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me.

Closing Hymn standing on the Promises of God

A favorite of Lillian or John, accompanied by guitar

Song to be sung by everyone:

Standing on the promises of Christ my King,Through eternal ages let His praises ring,Glory in the highest, I will shout and sing,Standing on the promises of God.

Refrain

Standing, standing,Standing on the promises of God my Savior;Standing, standing,I'm standing on the promises of God.

Standing on the promises that cannot fail,When the howling storms of doubt and fear assail,By the living Word of God I shall prevail,Standing on the promises of God.

Refrain

Standing on the promises I now can seePerfect, present cleansing in the blood for me;Standing in the liberty where Christ makes free,Standing on the promises of God.

Refrain

Standing on the promises of Christ the Lord,Bound to Him eternally by love’s strong cord,Overcoming daily with the Spirit’s sword,Standing on the promises of God.

Refrain

Standing on the promises I cannot fall,Listening every moment to the Spirit’s callResting in my Savior as my all in all,Standing on the promises of God.

Refrain
