Who is your Advisor?

Radio meditation and prayer by: Evangelist Sieberen Voordewind
Radio Hoogeveen (The Netherlands)/ Perspective 03-04-2007

Dear listener, during this broadcast I would like to talk about the subject:
“Who is your advisor?” Please open your heart for the Words of the Living God while you listen and receive rich blessings.
The Bible says: “And the one who trusts in him (Jesus) will never be put to shame." Romans 9:33. Whatever your problems may be, in the Bible we read about a man who had once gotten into deep trouble. His name is Jehoshaphat. The Bible says the following in 2 Chronicles 20:2 and 3a: “Some men came and told Jehoshaphat,” A vast army is coming against you from Edom, from the other side of the Sea…Then Jehoshaphat became afraid...”(Dutch Bible, NBG 1951).
Maybe just as Jehoshaphat you have been in trouble or have lived in fear. Fear of the future or of being left lonely, to die or to go bankrupt. Maybe you are afraid that you may not get out of difficulty. Whatever your need and whatever your fear, the question is: “Who is your advisor:” Yes, who do you go to with your problems and fears: Do as Jehoshaphat did! The Bible says: “Then Jehoshaphat became afraid and resolved to inquire of the LORD.” (Dutch Bible, NBG 1951). He decided to seek out the Living God with his need. The God that hears each prayer and answers all that is according to his Holy will, on His time. The Bible says in verse 3: “He (Jehoshaphat) proclaimed a fast for all Judah and The people of Judah came together to seek help from the LORD.” Praise the Lord! Jehoshaphat sought his refuge not from a person but from God. His situation was humanly hopeless. Because he prayed: “For we have no power to face this vast army that is attacking us.” (verse 12). And perhaps you too feel incapable of handling the situation you find yourself in. Your situation is humanly: hopeless. You cannot see a way out. And as Jehoshaphat says: “We do not know what to do,” You do not know what to do. But who is your advisor? To whom do you go for help? Jehoshaphat went to God and prayed: “but our eyes are upon you." He no longer saw the rebellion, but looked in faith to the Living God with whom anything is possible. While he prayed, the Bible says: (verse 14) “Then the Spirit of the LORD came upon Jahaziel … He said: "Listen, King Jehoshaphat and all who live in Judah and Jerusalem! This is what the LORD says to you: (and also to you listening to this broadcast) “Do not be afraid or discouraged because of this vast army. For the battle is not yours, but God's. You will not have to fight this battle. Take up your positions; stand firm and see the deliverance the LORD will give you, O Judah and Jerusalem. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged. Go out to face them tomorrow, and the LORD will be with you. "

Yes, while he and the others were in prayer, the Holy Spirit came with the answer. How amazing! And we out of mercy have the best book that is inspired by the Holy Spirit in which all of the answers are written. This book is called the Bible!

In the Bible God says to you: 'Call to me and I will answer you and tell you great and unsearchable things you do not know.'….'Nevertheless, I will bring health and healing to it.” (Jeremiah 33:3-6).

If you allow the Living God to be the advisor in your life then he shall speak to you through prayer, the Bible or other means.

His help is the best help! His advice is the best advice. Do as Jehoshaphat did and make the decision to seek the help from the very best advisor: the Living God. And as it was with Jehoshaphat, the Lord will hear your genuine prayer. And on his time, He will answer you.

After the Lord answered Jehoshaphat we read: “Jehoshaphat bowed with his face to the ground, and all the people of Judah and Jerusalem fell down in worship before the LORD.” (2 Chronicles 20:18).

Even before the problems were resolved, he believed God’s advice and bowed down to worship him.

When God speaks to us through prayer or bible reading we do not first have to see the solution of our problems with our human eyes. First we need to believe in Gods answers and advice before we see. Jesus said in Mark 11:24: “Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours.” Believe that your prayer has been heard by God before you can see or feel changes. Begin to thank him for the miracle. And jus as with Jehoshaphat, the lord God shall answer your prayer according to his will. On God’s time you too shall come out of the depths of troubles and you shall be able to walk around like Jehoshaphat in happiness and peace: this we can read about in Gods Word:

Then, led by Jehoshaphat, all the men of Judah and Jerusalem returned joyfully to Jerusalem, for the LORD had given them cause to rejoice over their enemies. They entered Jerusalem and went to the temple of the LORD with harps and lutes and trumpets. The fear of God came upon all the kingdoms of the countries when they heard how the LORD had fought against the enemies of Israel. And the kingdom of Jehoshaphat was at peace, for his God had given him rest on every side” (2 Chronicles 20:27-30).

Praise the Lord! All that the Living God has done for Jehoshaphat, he is willing to do for you in the name of his son Jesus of Nazareth, who has come to this earth to sanctify sinners.

Wherever you are at this very moment, in the living room, jail, the car, the trailer, anywhere at all: Let us go in faith to the throne of God.

“O mighty God and father. In the marvelous name of Jesus Christ I come to you, with those that are in need and are listening to this broadcast. We do not wish to doubt but believe that you are greater then any distress. And therefore I ask you: Let your saving, delivering, freeing, and healing power come from you at this moment. Heal the sick, deliver from pain, free from bondage, fears and addictions. Take away each financial problem. And provide in every need. O Lord come to the listeners, with your Godly power and anointing, so that their lives after this broadcast, will never be the same again. I thank you that out of mercy you will hear this prayer and will answer it on Your time. I praise and honor your Holy name.”

And my best friend: receive healing, freedom, solution and receive the mighty anointing of Gods Spirit in Jesus’ name! Believe it and Thank him for it! And never forget: Who is your advisor?

I wish you Gods’ rich and mighty blessing in the glorious name of Jesus Christ, the name above all names. Amen!
