Don't set goals!

Don't just set goals for 2014! Set standards!

When you set standards to live by, you are going to automatically have goals, and you will also have vision.

David set a very high standard to live by. He was determined to behold the (face) beauty of God. So he set a standard for himself. What was that standard?

"One thing I have desired of the Lord,
That will I seek:
That I may dwell in the house of the Lord
All the days of my life,
To behold the beauty of the Lord,
And to inquire in His temple."
Psalm 27:4 NKJV

David made the decision that he was going to live in the House of Almighty God all the days of his life. What a standard to live by! David knew that if you are going to have a relationship with God, you need to go all out. You need to decide to throw it all in. Nothing left out. You need to jump in with both feet. Not with one foot out, and one in.

After David set that standard for his life, he had a goal in mind, "the presence of God." Being in the presence of God was his goal. With that in mind, God became his vision. He was going to behold the beauty of God.

After you set standards to live by, you are going to have goals to reach; a bulls-eye to aim and shoot at, and you will also have vision.

David also set a plan in motion to achieve his goal of being in the presence of God, and to fulfill his vision of beholding the (face) beauty of God:

"And now my head shall be lifted up above my enemies all around me;
Therefore I will offer sacrifices of joy in His tabernacle;
I will sing, yes, I will sing praises to the Lord."
Psalm 27:6 NKJV

How was David going to get into the presence of God and behold God's beauty? He was going to offer sacrifices of joy, he was going to sing, he was going to worship and praise God! For how long? All the days of his life.His standards would be met, his goals would be achieved, and his vision would be fulfilled. Learn from the best, learn from David of old and do as he did. Set godly standards for your life.

"But You are holy, O You Who dwell in [the holy place where] the praises of Israel [are offered]."Psalm 22:3 AMP

God bless you.

In Christ and with His love,
