My Best Friend can be Your Best Friend Too

My Best Friend Can be your Best Friend Too

Luke Chapter 9
The Greatest in the Kingdom
48 Then he said to them, “Anyone
who welcomes a little child like this
on my behalf* welcomes me, and
anyone who welcomes me also
welcomes my Father who sent me
Whoever is the least among you is
the greatest.”

Do you ever feel afraid or lonely or think that nobody really knows you or that no one really cares about you? I used to feel this way but I heard a wonderful secret one day when I was about 12 years old and it changed my whole life. I found out that somebody does understand me, cares about me and loves me more than I ever dreamed possible and keeps me safe, so I don’t need to be afraid of anyone or anything ever. That somebody is Jesus, the Son of the living God. I was so excited when I heard about Jesus and especially when I found out that He is alive and loves me. Guess what...........He loves you too! Isn’t that absolutely awesome?

You can know Jesus and have Him as your best friend too. He loves everyone and especially children. Jesus changed my whole life, I talk to Him about everything and He loves me and understands me completely. I don’t know if you ever heard about Jesus before, maybe you have but did you know that He is alive and wants you to know Him, I mean really know Him? Let me tell you about Jesus.

Jesus Christ is the Son of the One true living God. Everything that we see and don’t see was made by God through Jesus and for Jesus. One day Jesus came to this earth and lived here. God sent Him to rescue us because we were in big trouble because sin took us away from God and we needed someone to bring us back to God.

Jesus was born into this world by a young woman named Mary and by the Holy Spirit, not by a man but by the Spirit of God because God is His father. Jesus came and lived here in a body just like ours but He was not like us because God lived in Him, the Holy Spirit of God lived in Him. Jesus came to tell us about God and to show us how to get back to God and go to heaven when we leave this earth. Jesus is the only way to get back to God, we can only come to God through Jesus God’s Son.

By believing that Jesus is the Son of God, that He was born into this world and lived here, that He did die for us and that God raised Him back to life again by the power of the Holy Spirit, we can ask Him to come and live in our hearts and make us right with God and have eternal life.

People didn’t realize that Jesus was the Son of God and they killed Him by putting Him on a cross but what they didn’t know was that God had already planned that Jesus would die for us. He gave up His own life for us so that by believing in Him and what He did, we would not have to die, that’s how much he loves us. Isn’t that wonderful? Jesus took the punishment for all the terrible things that we did so that we could be made right with God and live forever with Him and not have to die. He didn’t stay dead because God raised Him back to life (3 days after He was buried) by the Power of the Holy Spirit. Isn’t that amazing?

When we believe in Jesus and what He did for us, we can ask Jesus to come and live in our hearts and we can ask God to give us the Holy Spirit to come and help us and give us a new life that never ends and He will. All we have to do is ask Him. God the creator of all things gave all power and authority to Jesus and now Jesus is alive and Lord of everything and everyone. He also wants you to know Him. He is the only one who really knows God the Father and He wants us to know God too and when we believe this we also become children of God. It’s important to have the Holy Spirt because it’s the Holy Spirit who actually comes to live inside us and He teaches us all about Jesus, the Holy Spirit is the Spirit of Jesus and also the Spirit of God too. He is the one who Jesus will send to help us and the awesome thing is that He will never leave us. He keeps us safe and lets us know that God loves us. He is awesome, the greatest friend anyone could ever have.

The Holy Spirit knows everything about everything and tells us wonderful secrets about Jesus, God and everything else too. I hope that you will become a child of God like me and have the awesome life that He gives, there is no one else like Him and there is nothing greater than being a child of God.

If you are not sure how to ask Jesus to come into your life there is a prayer at the end of this book (page 10 ) that will help you. Go there now and then come back and read the rest of this book.

The Holy Spirit will help you to understand what is written here.

Did you ask God to make you His own child by asking Jesus to come into your heart? If you did, then welcome to the family of God, you are now a child of God and Jesus lives in your heart. You have just made the greatest decision of your entire life. Be ready for your life to change. It will change and you will have awesome joy in your precious heart because that’s just one of the awesome things Jesus will give you.

I am so excited for you, if I were there I would give you a great big hug but I’m not there, so I will ask Jesus to give you one for me, I know that He will. You may not see Him but you will feel Him and His wonderful love, He is going to fill your precious heart with His love. Tell someone that Jesus is Lord and that you are a believer in Jesus., this is very important. Tell others about the wonderful things that Jesus is doing in your life, this pleases Him very much and it helps others to know Him too. We want everyone to know how awesome Jesus is and that they can know Him too and come back to God through Jesus.

Now you will never be alone again, not ever! Isn’t it wonderful to know that the God who made the whole universe and everything in it, is now your real DAD. Yes, you still have your Daddy on earth but now you have another Father and He is God.

He will be with you ALWAYS and He will never leave you or give you up.

The Holy Spirit, will lead and guide you, teach you all things, comfort you, help you and tell you about things to come. He will tell you all about Jesus and God and you can ask Him anything and He will help you. When you talk to Him it’s called “praying”, that’s what we do, we talk to Him and He talks to us. He talks to us “inside”, you can talk to Him like a best friend and He will never ever hurt you. He is love and that’s what He does.

There is so much to know about Him. One of the first things that you will notice is that He changes you on the inside. You will feel different, you will love more, laugh more and care about others more. Here are some of the things that you will notice inside you now that the Holy Spirit lives in you: Love, Joy, Peace, Patience, Kindness, Gentleness, Faithfulness, Goodness and Self-Control.

The Holy Spirit also gives us a “new language”, it might sound weird and you won’t know what you are saying but it is a language that God understands. When you start speaking this language it’s because the Holy Spirit inside you is praying for you to God. This is really amazing. When I started speaking this new language, I didn’t know what it was. I woke up in the middle of the night speaking a strange language. Now I know and I thank God for it.

PAGE 6
It’s so wonderful to be able to speak to God in another language and know that He is the only one who understands it. It is very special. I can do it anytime I want to and so can you. Especially when we don’t know what to say or ask Him for, I just speak in the new language that He gave me. It’s called “tongues” in the Bible. ( see 1 Corinthians Chapter 14:2 on Page 7 )

If you have a Bible at home, the Holy Spirit will also help you understand it. Ask Him and He will teach it to you.
He is the One who gave the information in the Bible to the people who wrote it, so He is the only one who can really help you to understand it.

Remember, you are a Child of God and Christ (Jesus) lives in you. You are part of another family now and you have many brothers and sisters “in Christ” and I am one of them. One day I will see you in heaven, I love you.

This is a little prayer that I would like to pray for you right now.
Father in Heaven, thank you for this precious one reading this. I ask you to reveal the truth to them Father by your Holy Spirit and may they experience and know the love of Christ Jesus. I ask you to keep them safe Father and let them know how much you love them, Father I ask that you cover them with your presence, lead, guide and teach them your truth, I ask this of you Father in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ, Amen.

Scripture Verses from the Bible: (New Living Translation)

Romans Chapter 1
1 This letter is from Paul, a slave of Christ Jesus, chosen by God to be an apostle and sent out to preach his Good News. 2 God promised this Good News long ago through his prophets in the holy Scriptures. 3 The Good News is about his Son, Jesus. In his earthly life he was born into King David’s family line, 4 and he was shown to be* the Son of God when he was raised from the dead by the power of the Holy Spirit.* He is Jesus Christ our Lord. 5 Through Christ, God has given us the privilege and authority* as apostles to tell Gentiles everywhere what God has done for them, so that they will believe and obey him, bringing glory to his name. 6 And you are included among those Gentiles who have been called to belong to Jesus Christ. 7 I am writing to all of you in Rome who are loved by God and are called to be his own holy people. May God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ give you grace and peace.

ACTS Chapter 1
The Promise of the Holy Spirit
1 In my first book* I told you, Theophilus, about everything Jesus began to do and teach 2 until the day he was taken up to heaven after giving his chosen apostles further instructions through the Holy Spirit. 3 During the forty days after his crucifixion, he appeared to the apostles from time to time, and he proved to them in many ways that he was actually alive. And he talked to them about the Kingdom of God. 4 Once when he was eating with them, he commanded them, “Do not leave Jerusalem until the Father sends you the gift he promised, as I told you before. 5 John baptized with* water, but in just a few days you will be baptized with the Holy Spirit.”

1 Corinthians Chapter 14: 2 For if you have the ability to speak in tongues,* you will be talking only to God, since people won't be able to understand you. You will be speaking by the power of the Spirit, but it will all be mysterious.

John Chapter 1

Prologue: Christ, the Eternal Word
1 In the beginning the Word already existed.
The Word was with God,and the Word was God. 2 He existed in the beginning with God. 3 God created everything through him, and nothing was created except through him. 4 The Word gave life to everything that was created,*and his life brought light to everyone 5The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness can never extinguish it.* 6 God sent a man, John the Baptist,* 7 to tell about the light so that everyone might believe because of his testimony. 8 John himself was not the light; he was simply a witness to tell about the light. 9 The one who is the true light, who gives light to everyone, was coming into the world. 10 He came into the very world he created, but the world didn’t recognize him. 11 He came to his own people, and even they rejected him. 12 But to all who believed him and accepted him, he gave the right to become children of God. 13 They are reborn—not with a physical birth resulting from human passion or plan, but a birth that comes from God. 14 So the Word became human* and made his home among us. He was full of unfailing love and faithfulness.* And we have seen his glory, the glory of the Father’s one and only Son. 15 John testified about him when he shouted to the crowds, “This is the one I was talking about when I said, ‘Someone is coming after me who is far greater than I am, for he existed long before me.’” 16 From his abundance we have all received one gracious blessing after another.* 17 For the law was given through Moses, but God’s unfailing love and faithfulness came through Jesus Christ. 18 No one has ever seen God. But the one and only Son is himself God and* is near to the Father’s heart. He has revealed God to us.

John Chapter 1
The Testimony of John the Baptist
26 John told them, “I baptize with* water, but right here in the crowd is someone you do not recognize. 27 Though his ministry follows mine, I’m not even worthy to be his slave and untie the straps of his sandal.” 28 This encounter took place in Bethany, an area east of the Jordan River, where John was baptizing.

Jesus, the Lamb of God
29 The next day John saw Jesus coming toward him and said, “Look! The Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world! 30 He is the one I was talking about when I said, ‘A man is coming after me who is far greater than I am, for he existed long before me.’ 31 I did not recognize him as the Messiah, but I have been baptizing with water so that he might be revealed to Israel.” 32 Then John testified, “I saw the Holy Spirit descending like a dove from heaven and resting upon him. 33 I didn’t know he was the one, but when God sent me to baptize with water, he told me, ‘The one on whom you see the Spirit descend and rest is the one who will baptize with the Holy Spirit.’ 34 I saw this happen to Jesus, so I testify that he is the Chosen One of God.*”

John Chapter 16
The Work of the Holy Spirit
12 “There is so much more I want to tell you, but you can’t bear it now. 13 When the Spirit of truth comes, he will guide you into all truth. He will not speak on his own but will tell you what he has heard. He will tell you about the future. 14 He will bring me glory by telling you whatever he receives from me. 15 All that belongs to the Father is mine; this is why I said, ‘The Spirit will tell you whatever he receives from me.’

THIS IS THE PRAYER TO ASK ( OUT LOUD ) ...for Jesus to come into your heart:

Lord Jesus, I believe what I heard about you. I believe that you are the Son of God and that you came to live on earth in a human body. I believe that you died for me and took the punishment for my sin so I could be made right with God and have eternal life. I believe that God raised you from the dead by the Power of the Holy Spirit and that you are alive and that you are Lord. I ask you Lord Jesus to come into my heart and be my Lord. I ask God the father for the gift of the Holy Spirit to give me the power to live for Him and be a child of God. Jesus, I ask you to Baptize me in the Holy Spirit and teach me, lead me, guide me and be my friend. I want to know you and I ask you to make me your own. I ask this in Jesus’s name. Amen
