Glory of New Jerusalem can be yours

Revelation 21:21 - 23

21 The twelve gates were twelve pearls: each individual gate was of one pearl. And the street of the city was pure gold, like transparent glass.

The Glory of the New Jerusalem

22 But I saw no temple in it, for the Lord God Almighty and the Lamb are its temple. 23 The city had no need of the sun or of the moon to shine in it, for the glory of God illuminated it. The Lamb is its light.

It is amazing what we have to look forward to in Heaven. What a wonderful knowledge that God has prepared a great place for His children to dwell in for eternity. Who said that God doesn’t think about us or acknowledge that we greatly need Him?  We need Him and that is why He said, “I am with you always.” Matthew 28:20 KJV

In Uberlandia, MG., Brazil, I was in a service last Sunday in a church and heard a visiting preacher preach a message on building walls. He finalised his message with the above portion of scripture. As he did, God impressed a word upon my heart for the present church and its Pastor.

Today that same word is burning in my heart to share with you.

Do you desire more of God? Do you wish to be in God’s presence? Would you like to be under His wings and in His shadow?

This portion of scripture speaks about the future Jerusalem in which all believers who overcome to the end, will live. We will enjoy the presence of God forever. He will be the light in which we live. His glory will continuously fill New Jerusalem. And there will be no darkness, evil, or anything that destroys in that City.

If you can imagine New Jerusalem and the presence of God in it, then I would like for you to imagine what your life could be like, if you had that kind of light in your life today.

Can you see it? If you had the presence of God in your life even to a small degree of what it will be like in eternity, can you envision how precious and wonderful your existence here on earth could be?

But, is this possible here on earth?

Well, let’s see. The Bible tells us that Enoch walked with God and God took him to Heaven. The Bible says that Moses’ face was shining so brightly after being in the presence of God that the people couldn’t look at him. After King Solomon sacrificed, and worshiped the Lord in the inauguration of the Temple, the presence of God came down as smoke and the priests could not stand to minister.

So, is it possible that you can continuously have, and not only experience, the presence of God in your life? Yes! It is more than possible. You can have the same light that will fill New Jerusalem, right here on this earth. How?

Jesus calls you light and salt to the earth. But how many Christians today are shining brightly for Jesus and how many are being salt to the earth? But, you can be light and salt to the earth!

Psalm 22:3, “But thou art holy, O thou that inhabitest the praises of Israel.” KJV

Psalm 91:1, “He that dwelleth in the secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty.” KJV

God lives in the praises of His people. The secret place of God is His presence.

Think about it. If you are under His shadow, then aren’t you in His presence? Therefore, if you are dwelling in the secret place of the Most High, according to Psalm 91, you are under His shadow. In that case, isn’t it fair then to say, you are in God’s presence?

Well then, how do you get into God’s presence? Worship Him! Adore Him. Praise Him. He lives in the praises of His people according to Psalm 22:3. And if He lives in your praises, won’t that cause you to be under the shadow of Almighty God and in His secret place?

Since that would be the case, and God is present with His glory, your life would resemble that of New Jerusalem wouldn’t it? At least it would to a certain degree, wouldn’t you say?

Then what else is left for you do? Only one thing! Worship Him.

In Christ and His Service,
