You have been weighed, you have been...

You have been weighed, you have been measured, and you have been found lacking nothing.

Do you realize that God measured you in a cup? Did you know you were weighed on a scale?

Yes, you were! You were weighed, you were measured and a value was placed upon you since the foundation of the world.

“Therefore I say to you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or what you will drink; nor about your body, what you will put on. Is not life more than food and the body more than clothing? Look at the birds of the air, for they neither sow nor reap nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not of more value than they?” Matthew 6: 25, 26 NKJV

What value was placed upon you? How were you measured? How did God weigh you?

When God looked at you, He looked at Himself. When He weighed you, He weighed you against Himself. And when He measured you, it was with His own cup.

36 Then Jesus came with them to a place called Gethsemane, and said to the disciples, “Sit here while I go and pray over there.” 37 And He took with Him Peter and the two sons of Zebedee, and He began to be sorrowful and deeply distressed. 38 Then He said to them, “My soul is exceedingly sorrowful, even to death. Stay here and watch with Me.”

39 He went a little farther and fell on His face, and prayed, saying, “O My Father, if it is possible, let this cup pass from Me; nevertheless, not as I will, but as You will.

40 Then He came to the disciples and found them sleeping, and said to Peter, “What! Could you not watch with Me one hour? 41 Watch and pray, lest you enter into temptation. The spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak.”

42 Again, a second time, He went away and prayed, saying, “O My Father, if this cup cannot pass away from Me unless[e] I drink it, Your will be done.” 43 And He came and found them asleep again, for their eyes were heavy.

44 So He left them, went away again, and prayed the third time, saying the same words. 45 Then He came to His disciples and said to them, “Are you still sleeping and resting? Behold, the hour is at hand, and the Son of Man is being betrayed into the hands of sinners. 46 Rise, let us be going. See, My betrayer is at hand.” Matthew 26 NKJV

God took His own cup, poured everything that was you into it; everything that represented you before you received Jesus Christ as Lord and Saviour (see Romans 10:8 -10). He took every sin, every evil thought and every wicked act of yours, and put them into that cup. Everything that was you: the good, the bad and the ugly, God placed into that cup.

He then took that cup and weighed it against Himself. The scale tipped to the side that God was on. He saw that you didn’t measure up to Him. And God made the decision that He was going make sure that you measured up to Him. He decided then and there that He was going to make up what was lacking.

The fact of the matter is that everything was lacking! You had no chance. There was no way that you could redeem yourself. There was no way that someone else could redeem you. You were pawned and nothing could get you out. Nothing! But, the blood of Jesus Christ.

God decided that you were worth more to Him than anything else in this world. He made the decision that He was going to pay the price for you; once and for all. You were going to be redeemed!

So He took that cup and gave it to His only begotten Son, Jesus Christ. And they decided together that there was no other way, but through the cross.

Since you were so lacking, and you could not make up the loss, Jesus Christ measured you against Himself; His life for yours.

You see dear friend, God decided that you were worth all that is God. You are worth everything God, even His very life.

You were weighed, you were measured, and you were found lacking. But, then Jesus died and rose again. Then you received Him as Lord and Saviour. You were weighed and measured again. This time you were found lacking nothing!

In Christ and in His service,

Rev. David Ramiah
