Do you deserve anything from God?

Do you deserve anything from God? Are you worthy to receive anything from God?

“In the mean time, when there were gathered together an innumerable multitude of people, insomuch that they trode one upon another, he began to say unto his disciples first of all, Beware ye of the leaven of the Pharisees, which is hypocrisy.” Luke 12:1 KJV

Notice that Jesus began to speak to His disciples before speaking to the multitude “... he began to say unto his disciples first of all…” He wanted to share truth with them personally before ministering to the crowd. Do you think that He cared for His disciples? Are you a disciple of Jesus?

Verse 22 & 23: “And he said unto his disciples, Therefore I say unto you, Take no thought for your life, what ye shall eat; neither for the body, what ye shall put on. The life is more than meat, and the body is more than raiment.”

One of the first things that Jesus said to His disciples is this: “Take no thought for your life.” What do you think that Jesus meant to say to them? Exactly! Stop worrying! Why? Worry kills.

Why do people worry? They feel that they have to fix all their broken pieces and solve all their problems by themselves. Therefore, they do not rely on God! They hardly ask for His help. And if they do, they go back to worrying over the situation anyway. We have all done it.

Jesus says, “Stop worrying!”

Verses 24 to 28: “Consider the ravens: for they neither sow nor reap; which neither have storehouse nor barn; and God feedeth them: how much more are ye better than the fowls? And which of you with taking thought can add to his stature one cubit?
If ye then be not able to do that thing which is least, why take ye thought for the rest?
Consider the lilies how they grow: they toil not, they spin not; and yet I say unto you, that Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these.
If then God so clothe the grass, which is to day in the field, and to morrow is cast into the oven; how much more will he clothe you, O ye of little faith?”

The next thing that Jesus told them is this, “Consider…”

Think of the tiniest bird, and think of the smallest blade of grass. God takes all the time that is necessary, and He puts all the effort needed into making sure that the tiniest bird has food to eat . He makes sure that the smallest blade of grass has everything that it needs to grow. That the lilies have everything that they need to be beautiful, even though they are there today and tomorrow they are gone.
You are here for eternity!

If God thought that you were worthy enough for Jesus to come to this earth, take on flesh and blood, go to an ugly scary cross and die, for you! Don’t you think that you are worthy to receive everything that Jesus provided for you on that cross!? Don’t you think that you deserve to receive every good and perfect gift from God? Don’t you think that you are worthy to receive what Jesus already says is yours?

“Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and cometh down from the Father of lights, with whom is no variableness, neither shadow of turning.” James 1:17 KJV

“And if children, then heirs; heirs of God, and joint-heirs with Christ; if so be that we suffer with him, that we may be also glorified together. “ Romans 8:17 KJV

Then Jesus said to them:
Verses 29 to 32, “And seek not ye what ye shall eat, or what ye shall drink, neither be ye of doubtful mind. For all these things do the nations of the world seek after: and your Father knoweth that ye have need of these things. But rather seek ye the kingdom of God; and all these things shall be added unto you. Fear not, little flock; for it is your Father's good pleasure to give you the kingdom.”

In essence He said, “Stop seeking after things of this world. Seek first the Kingdom of God and God will give you all the other things.”

It gives God great pleasure to give you the Kingdom. What is in the Kingdom of God? Everything that is good and perfect. And God desires to give you every good and perfect thing!

Let me say this to you, God made you worthy. You are not worthy in your own self. He made you worthy through Jesus Christ! You are worthy. The next time you go to God to ask Him for anything, remember that Jesus made you worthy.

“For ye are dead, and your life is hid with Christ in God.” Colossians 3:3 KJV

Jesus is saying to you right now:
        Stop worrying!
Consider that God takes time for the littlest creature,
Seek God’s Kingdom first and you will get what is in the Kingdom.

In Christ'
